| I got caught up watching a tv show last night about human geneology. They took dna samples from thousands of people from different backrounds and countries and traced thier roots. what was interesting about it was how fast race evolved. The tv show clearly stated that all of our ancesters came from Africa but slowly over time alot of humans migrated out to other countries due to climate change. As humans moved and settled we devoloped physical changes to survive in different enviorments. I think the show was leaning more toward tolerence of other races, that it doesnt matter our differences on the outside, we our very much the same on the inside. But besides that piont the show itself raises a few questions, if humans were evoloved and there is solid evidence to prove it ,does that mean that the idea of a all powerfull being does not exist such as god? could it possibly piont to the very idea of god as just being a figurative part of our growing/ evolving mental devolopment into civilization? Kind of like a stepping stone to higher awareness and more sophisticated reasoning through questioning and science. Another question it raises is, if humans can evolve and we can advance as a spieces can our psyche advance as well? What i mean is that humans only use a small amount of their brain, over time is it possible that we could be evolving mentally and using more of our brians to adapt to a technological enviorment. | | |
| I dont know if anyone has ever watched a loved one pass on or been through the tramatic events of losing a close family member. I work in a nursing home, I take care of people that can not care for themselves or have anyone to visit them. Night after night I am there to tend to these people and I am constantly thinking about the people i have taken care of, the lives if any affected by the death of them. And then there are some of my patients who stay in their room all day in constant suffering and everyday that passes they die a little more but cant ever seem to find peace of mind. what I dont seem to understand is why would you try and keep these people alive? To a brain dead person or someone sick with disease is it more kind to keep them and watch them suffer or to let them go? what i notice is that people seem to be afraid of the thought of death but dont understand that to some it is an end to constant suffering. death is something that is inevititalbe, from the moment we are born we start to age and die. that is the harsh reality of life. what makes me upset is that people dont see the the good in death, the completion of life, but rather see the horrible, grief and depression and loss. what they dont understand is that they didnt loose anything. they are well remembered for the lessons they taught or the happiness they shared. Why in our society do we mourn the death when we should be celebrating the the life that person lived? I dont get upset when my patients pass on, in fact I am happy that they found peace. | | |
